This is for Ahkward's contest here: ahkward.deviantart.com/journal…
I did more sketches than anything, lots and lots of unfinished messy sketches, trying figuring out how to draw mountains, mist, waterfalls, water reflection, build up vegetation, whatever the hell colour should I use etc etc and I found it very hard to detail landscape pictures. So yeah over all, everything was damn hard, but by god, this had become more of a study session than a simple picture making and it has been absolutely invaluable!
Because of this, expect to see more ACTUAL back drops to my dragons/fantasy creatures etc (and likely a sketch dump of all the concept work I was going through to try and develop these).
I did three completed works for the contest each I tried a different thing with:
- For this one I tried to use extreme perspectives and detail into rocks and its probably my favourite
Influences: Chinese country, Vietnam rivers
